President's Message

Hello fellow members of the Oklahoma Speech-Language Hearing Association! As the 2011 OSHA President,  it is my privilege to join the other Executive Council and Committee members in supporting, and advocating for, professionals who provide care for individuals with communication, hearing, balance, and swallowing disorders in the state of Oklahoma. We have several significant challenges to address this year including working to protect the interest of speech-language pathologists and audiologists during the sunset review process, continuing to advocate for the salary supplement for school-based speech-language pathologists, implementing an on-line membership renewal process, improving the electronic balloting process, and developing a new strategic plan for the Association. We will continue to support high quality continuing education through the annual OSHA Conference as well as develop additional OSHA sponsored workshops and seminars.I urge all speech-language pathology and audiology professionals and students in Oklahoma to support our profession through involvement in both State and National Associations. Your contribution of dues, time, and talent empowers both OSHA and ASHA  to meet your professional needs and through you, improve the lives of those whom you serve.

Best Regards,
Susan Benson, 2011 OSHA President
