Assistant/Associate Professor: The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the College of Allied Health at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time, 12- month, tenure-track position in speech-language pathology.
Requirements include an earned Ph.D. degree or equivalent, expertise and active research in normal/disordered child language and neurodevelopmental communication disorders, and potential for successful university teaching, research, service, and extramural funding.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. degree in Speech-Language Pathology who currently hold, or are eligible for, CCC-SLP, have the ability to contribute to child language teaching and research activities in the department, have university teaching experience, and have an active research agenda.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research in areas of interest, participating in university governance, and seeking extramural funding.

Ardmore City Schools currently has a job opening for a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2011-2012 School Year.
Qualifications:
- A valid Oklahoma elementary teacher’s certificate.
- A master’s degree in Speech Pathology.
- A caring nature for dealing with children having problems
- The ability to deal with children, parents, and other educators, effectively.
Duties:
- Shall screen referrals when appropriate.
- Request permission to test for all children not passing the screening.
- Provide consultative information services when deemed appropriate by the Director of Special Services to other speech therapists, teachers, parents administrators or students.
- Administer appropriate speech and language tests and screen for hearing loss.
- Hold parent conferences regarding placement for student, and all appropriate forms be filled out, in compliance with state and district regulations.
- Schedule and provide therapy for all eligible students.
- Conduct conferences with parents and regular classroom teachers at regularly scheduled times during the year to coordinate efforts between all concerned.
- Administer scheduled re-evaluations and at parent conference discuss whether or not continuing services are needed.
- With the help of the Special Services Director determine the appropriate handling of the hearing screening and the proper follow-up.
